Challenges
An ISO27001 assessment found an unmanaged SIEM that couldn’t properly detect or monitor security threats.
Prior network security situation
Prior to engaging Cythera cyber security, the client completed a thorough ISO27001 cyber security gap assessment and determined a need to improve their capability to monitor and detect threats across the network, infrastructure and endpoints.
Their existing Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution did not provide adequate monitoring or detection coverage to identify or respond to modern attacks spanning infrastructure or users. The pre-existing SIEM was also unmanaged and required significant, costly updated to function in a high-performing state.
Solution
Cyther recommended and deployed its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service underpinned by Rapid7’s InsightIDR platform.
Cythera incorporates human-led triage and proactive threat response serices using Cythera’s team of Australian-based security experts.
The Cyther MDR service combines best-in-class cyber threat detection and alerting capabilities which spans over 900 detections and comprehensive user behaviour analytics to detect the most advanced cyber-attacks and insider threats.
As part of this cyber security service, Cythera incorporates human-led triage and proactive threat response serices using Cythera’s team of Australian-based security experts. This team is also responsible for providing periodic security threat-hunts to identify rogue processes or systems that exist within the client environment that could impact business operations or precede a network security breach.
